For Australians, Queensland is associated with sun, beach, holidays and honeymoons. Indeed, the main business activity is tourism. Hundreds of miles of fabulous beaches stretch along the endless Pacific coastline and enjoy images cut out from a travel magazine. Surrounding tropical flowers, palm trees, waterfalls and noisy parrots are topped up with myriads of paradisiacal islands, isles and lagoons which one can only dream of. But not only holidaymakers will appreciate the splendour of the Sunshine State. Passionate scuba divers, snorkelers and fans of fishing from every corner of the world come here to explore the waters of the Coral Sea and one of the greatest natural wonders – the Great Barrier Reef.

The two main cities of Queensland, Gold Coast and Brisbane, are located in the south of the state. Brisbane is the capital of Queensland and the Koala Capital of Australia. It is the colourful, cultural and cosmopolitan place. Gold Coast takes advantage of the open ocean, and it was nicknamed “The Surfers Paradise”. It is also popular with families due to its fantastic water parks and theme parks. The Sunshine Coast is another beach lovers gem. The nearby Fraser Island, home of the Dingo, is well-known for its magnificent rainforest, abundant marine life, giant sandblows and crystal clear streams.

Travelling further north, passing by majestic rainforests of Queensland on the left and the famous Great Barrier Reef with its splendid honeymoons islands on the right, one will arrive in Cairns – the gateway to the Far North. Some would say that this is the most beautiful region of Australia. Port Douglas covered with luxurious resorts and excellent diving reefs, Daintree Rainforest – the World Heritage Area and a place where the forest meets the sea. This is the kingdom of crocodile and the world`s deadliest bird ‘cassowary’, but also home to the wild Tully and Barron Rivers that offer thrilling whitewater rafting and brilliant 4WD Safari to Cape York.

The Sunshine State will greet the visitors with untold natural beauty, friendly cheerful locals, relaxed ambience and delicious seafood.
